AVS present live 'online' lecture on diseases of the backyard hen!

In February Richard, with the help Carli's Senegal parrot 'Frankie' presented a live 'online' lecture or 'Webinar' on common diseases of the backyard hen, to a nationwide audience of vets.
With the recent explosion in the keeping of backyard poultry, more and more 'pet' chickens are being presented to veterinary practices all over the UK. This presentation was designed to offer some useful advice and 'top tips' on how to approach these cases in general practice.
"It is the first time I've ever done one of these webinars and although I quite enjoy lecturing on avian topics, it was really strange not having an actual audience in front of me. Thankfully Frank was on hand to step in and gave me someone to talk to, even chipping in with the odd 'give us a kiss!'"
It is compulsory for vets in practice to undertake a set number of education days per year 'continuing professional development' (CPD) to ensure they stay up to date with current diseases and their treatments. For small, private practices like AVS these 'webinars' run by CPD Solutions offer the perfect opportunity to both teach and learn without having to spend long periods away from the practice.
