AVS Welcomes visiting vet from Malta
September 2011
Luke Sultana, a vet from Malta travelled to the UK in September to spend some time at AVS in order to improve his skills in the areas of avian medicine and surgery. Luke has had a keen interest in 'exotics' and especially birds since childhood. With no specialist avian vets on the island to deal with the ever increasing number of companion birds Luke is keen to develop this service and provide the best possible care for his feathered patients. Luke very quickly became an active member of the team and we will miss his help, enthusiasm and endless cookie supply when he returns home in October!
This is what he had to say about his time here at AVS -
"I would like to thank Richard, Carli and Emily for all their kindness and generosity during my visit. They made me feel very welcome and went out of their way on a daily basis to ensure that I got as much practice as possible.
Their extensive knowledge, years of experience and state of the art equipment makes avian medicine look easy and I can honestly say that it was a pleasure being around such a professional team that have a genuine passion for all things avian.
This was a very positive experience for me and I definitely feel more confident about treating any avian cases that come my way."
